Dudson Scott Gallery is excited to announce “Unlocking Lockdown”.
This exhibition presents work from four local Marlborough Artists; Joanna Dudson Scott, Bonnie Coad, Sara Scott and new to the Gallery Bruce Fergus.
Presenting an eclectic mix of paintings, pottery, mixed media and sculpture “Unlocking Lockdown” is a celebration of ideas from these artists and their response to the shift up and down through the four levels of Lockdown.
There will be an opportunity to meet the artists at different times throughout the summer at the Gallery.
February 2020 to April 2020
Local ceramicist Sara Scott's main interest over the last 15 years has been in the development of translating pattern or line from two dimensions into three. The actual technique of decorating (i.e. burnishing slips, scratching lines, drawing along edges or inlaying different clays) helps to describe the form in her latest works. She looks to the works of Matisse, Picasso and Miro to inspire her to keep her decoration immediate, spontaneous and gestural.
