SARA SCOTT

February 2020 to April 2020

Local ceramicist Sara Scott's main interest over the last 15 years has been in the development of translating pattern or line from two dimensions into three. The actual technique of decorating (i.e. burnishing slips, scratching lines, drawing along edges or inlaying different clays) helps to describe the form in her latest works. She looks to the works of Matisse, Picasso and Miro to inspire her to keep her decoration immediate, spontaneous and gestural.

BONNIE COAD

February 2020 to April 2020

Bonnie Coad's mixed media collages incorporate vintage and retro sewing patterns as well as her own handmade collage papers. Bright, colourful and with a strong sense of humour.

JOANNA DUDSON SCOTT

On-going

ELEMENTS: Rethinking Molesworth consists of major pieces that reflect the grand scale of the Molesworth’s vast landscape, and several smaller pieces conveying the striking colours and stark beauty of the area’s barren wilderness.
An expression of the dichotomy between the solitude and peace Joanna found while exploring the Molesworth’s peaks and valleys on foot, and the huge forces of the 2016 Kaikoura earthquakes that irrevocably fractured the landscape forever.
